Titanium cups are essential for refined camping, yet their elegance differs from daily-use luxury. For those who rarely camp but have perfectionist tendencies, the inevitable water stains, fingerprints, burn marks, scratches, and dents on titanium products may be unsettling.
PRECAUTIONS
COMMON QUESTIONS
Titanium Surface Texture
Titanium naturally has unique grain patterns, which may appear as orange peel texture, stretch marks, or tiny pores during processing. These variations are random and unavoidable, not defects.
Fingerprint Marks
Fingerprints on titanium surfaces result from moisture in the skin interacting with the metal. This is a natural occurrence.
Scratching on Ceramics
Titanium products oxidize upon contact with ceramics, leaving pencil-like marks. This is a natural characteristic of pure titanium and poses no harm to health. If concerned, avoid using titanium products with ceramic tableware.
High-Temperature Color Change
Titanium has a melting point of 1668°C, but when exposed to heat, it undergoes oxidation, creating different hues at varying temperatures. This color transformation does not release harmful substances but adds a vibrant, multicolored aesthetic. If you prefer a natural titanium finish, avoid dry-burning. Double-layer titanium products should never be exposed to extreme heat.
Spot Oxidation
Some users notice brownish spots on the bottom of titanium kettles. These result from minerals in water adhering to the surface and do not affect performance.

Here’s a little tip for everyone: if you’re planning to fire the cup yourself, make sure to wear gloves even before taking it out of the packaging. Any fingerprints left on the cup before firing will become permanently visible on the surface once it’s heated. Of course, that could also be part of the DIY fun if you’re into adding a personal touch!

I’ve been using titanium cups for a long time, whether it’s for tea, coffee, or even beer. Even if you don’t wash it right away, it never holds onto any flavors — the cup stays clean and neutral.

I really regret not getting the rainbow version!

The quality is really excellent, but I’m a bit disappointed that the lid has to be purchased separately. Also, it seems like there’s no rainbow version of the lid, which is a bit of a shame.

I’m heading out on a trip this week, and just in time, I received this cup before departure — it’s absolutely amazing and unlike any titanium cup I’ve ever seen. I got both the 300ml and 450ml versions, and they nest perfectly together — one as a sharing cup and one for myself. The texture and quality are beyond my expectations! You can really tell it’s made from high-grade titanium alloy — the strength says it all!

As a Japanese outdoor enthusiast, it’s always been hard to live without Snow Peak — mostly because there haven’t been many other options. But this time, I finally have a cup that’s different from everyone else’s! I never expected a cup to become my social signature in the camping community!

Because I wanted to try it myself, I bought four of them (all 300ml — I don’t need the 450ml), and I managed to fire one on my own, which turned out pretty well! This titanium cup is truly impressive. Most of the titanium cups I’ve encountered aren’t actually pure titanium, but this one really feels like it is — from the way the color changes when fired, to the weight of the cup itself, and even the fact that it leaves no taste behind (as true titanium shouldn’t). Compared to Snow Peak, I think the quality is about the same, but the ampm cup is way more fun — after all, no one wants to be using the same thing as everyone else!
